We can look back on a very succesfull edition of the Rosary Marathon!
Of course, we started with Holy Mass in the church, followed by a nice lunch. There was bread, cheese, luncheon meat, and drinks—in short, plenty to eat. After lunch, we had to start praying right away, or else we would fall behind schedule. After handing out rosaries and booklets about the Rosary, we were ready to begin. It was also wonderful to see that some who had never prayed the Rosary before took this opportunity to learn more about it and join in. In this way, they too are learning about this beautiful prayer.
During the break, Martijn gave a lecture about Lourdes. In it, he delved deeply into the letters written by St. Bernadette and also showed a statue of Mary depicting how this saint likely viewed our Heavenly Mother. You can read more about this lecture (in Dutch) here.
The second part of the prayer marathon was different from the first. The first part took place in the church, but for the second part, a participant had the lovely idea to walk outside by the cemetery. There are signs there with the Stations of the Cross. That naturally fits well with the sorrowfull mysteries with which we began.
After this entire prayer marathon, we had a nice dinner with pizza to finish, and Oscar was promoted to co-organizer. So, for the next edition, he might also help with the organization.
